A fake NHS text message has recently been circulating, informing people that they’re eligible to apply for the COVID-19 vaccine. It will prompt you to click on a link within the message, which will take you to a very convincing website that is designed to try and steal your information.
If you receive a text or email that asks you to click on a link or for you to provide information, such as your name, credit card or bank details, it’s a scam. There has also been a spate of cold calls, where scammers are asking people to pay for the vaccine. We urge you to please double check any information that you receive on a trusted website, such as www.gov.uk.
For more information on the scam, please view the “Circulating fake NHS COVID-19 vaccine text message” page on the Derbyshire Police website.
