Mental Health Awareness

Together we can tackle Mental Illness

Stigma surrounding mental illness is a major barrier that prevents people from seeking the mental health treatment that they need. Together we can put an end to the stigma and be advocates for treatment and recovery.

At St Mary’s Surgery we are very fortunate to have a Wellbeing Team. The Wellbeing Team covers 4 areas……

  • 11-15 years (secondary school) needing help with their mental health
  • 16-25 years needing help with their mental health
  • 25+ years needing help with their mental health
  • Social Prescribing – 18+ needing help with financial issues, domestic violence, housing concerns, social isolation, health anxiety.

Appointments are bookable through Reception.

Loneliness is affecting more and more of us in the UK and has had a huge impact on our physical and mental health during the pandemic. The pandemic has given rise to a sense of loneliness and isolation undermining confidence in daily routines.

There is a range of support and treatment to help you and also information for your friends and family that might help them understand how you feel.
